We are excited to introduce History Tool 7.0, the latest addition to the Compose Collection suite. This release represents a complete rebuild of the History Search application, offering enhanced speed, greater capabilities, and a modern interface specifically designed for event history analysis in NOI/COP environments. History Tool is part of the Reports & Visualization package.
Overview
History Tool (formerly History Search) 7.0 is equipped with robust features to search, filter, and visualize historical event data. The application has been entirely rewritten, resulting in a smoother, more responsive experience across all browsers and devices. The primary focus of this version is improved performance, user-friendly design, and flexible configuration options, all while preserving full backward compatibility with existing Impact/Omnibus integrations.
Key Features in Version 7.0
AI-Powered Case Reports
The new AI Case Report feature automatically generates structured, context-aware summaries of selected events. Reports support markdown formatting, collapsible sections, and editable content, making them ideal for incident analysis and documentation. The AI feature requires the module AI Connector.
Virtualized Event Tables
History Tool now efficiently manages thousands of events with a virtualized data grid. This ensures fast scrolling, low memory usage, and improved rendering performance, even for large datasets.
Custom Views
Users can create, save, and easily switch between personalized data layouts. It is possible to reorder or hide columns, save preferred filters, and automatically restore layouts when returning to the application.
Advanced Search Options
The Flexible search capabilities have been enhanced. Users now benefit from direct SQL query support, a form-based query builder for those unfamiliar with SQL, history search and filter options, and interactive chart filtering.
Event Notepad
A built-in notepad allows for temporary storage of events, facilitating analysis and comparison. Events stored in the notepad persist across browser sessions and can be easily managed within the main interface.
Performance and Compatibility
Version 7.0 has been fully re-engineered to support modern environments. With optimized rendering, users benefit from faster load and render times, as well as a responsive layout. Backward compatibility is maintained with History Search 6.x URLs and filters, ensuring that existing saved searches and dashboard links continue to work without modification.
